B.Pharma (Bachelor in Pharmacy)


The pharmacy graduates are involved and trained in the preparation, dispensing and appropriate use of medication, production of pharmaceutical products, development of methods or process of production and quality control. Bachelor of Pharmacy is an undergraduate degree course in the field of Pharmacy. It is one of the popular job oriented course among the science students after class 12th/PUC. The main course is all about the preparation, formulation, analysis and dispensing of various drugs for treating diseases. The course provides a wide spectrum of job opportunities, which includes in a range of industries related to the production, manufacture, quality control & research/ formulation of medicines, for higher studies, drug regulatory administration, drug testing laboratories, research and academia in the public and private sector. The candidates are entitled to venture in to their own Pharma business and is also the eligible qualification for registration as Registered Pharmacist.

Eligibility Criteria for admission in B.Pharma


Candidate shall have passed 10+2 examination conducted by the respective state/central government authorities recognized as equivalent to 10+2 examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (P.C.M) and or Biology (P.C.B / P.C.M.B.) as optional subjects individually. Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations is also valid.

B. Pharma Lateral Entry(In Third Semester)


A pass in D. Pharma course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.

Course Duration


The course of study for B.Pharma shall extend over a period of eight semesters (four academic years) and six semesters (three academic years) for lateral entry students. The curricula and syllabi for the program shall be prescribed from time to time by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.

Attendance


80% attendance is made compulsory for each candidate in individual courses which includes both theory and practical classes separately. The candidate shall complete the prescribed course satisfactorily to be eligible to appear for the respective examinations.
